A 13-year-old girl who died after falling from a block of flats may have been being bullied before her death, it has emerged.

The youngster, named locally as Chevonea Kendall-Bryan and a pupil at St Cecilia’s School, in Southfields, died after falling from Seldon House, in Stewarts Road, Battersea, shortly after 8pm on Tuesday.

The Wandsworth Guardian has since received reports that Miss Kendall-Bryan was being bullied - and a spokesman for the Metropolitan Police confirmed officers were looking into this.

He said: “We are looking into the full background of the case and that would form part of the investigation but we are treating the death as unexplained.”

Miss Kendall-Bryan was rushed to a south London hospital after falling from the flat block - but was pronounced dead by doctors.

Friends and family of the 13-year-old have placed flowers and cards where her body was found.

One message read: “To dearest Chevonea, May God rest your soul. You are a little angel and have joined the other angels in God’s house.

“RIP. Never forgotten. Love always.”

Another said: “Beautiful Chevonea.

“RIP Princess. We were your true friends and will always love you.”

A spokesman for St Cecilia’s said: “We are very shocked as a school community by this terrible news but pupils are receiving support from our Chaplain, who is an Anglican priest, our school counsellor, and others.

“We have held an Assembly for all our pupils and staff and have remembered Chevonea, her family and friends in our prayers.”
