A gang member has been banned from the town centre after getting a three year ASBO.

Babu Otu, 17, has been given an Anti-Social Behaviour Order which prevents him from associating with other people suspected to be DSN gang members.

Otu, of Laurel Crescent, Croydon, was given the order on January 24, which bans him from entering Croydon town centre and also bans him from associating with the following people: Faisal Mudde, Tyrone Banton, Antoine Forster, Ojaye Sandcroft, Sanchez Banton, Herlando Neto, Andre Thomas Richards, Jordan Buitrago, Murio Crawford Burrows and Kofi Sekeyere.

Otu was identified by officers from the Gangs Unit Aries team to be associating with known gang members in and around the town centre.

He was also identified as being involved with, or present at, various incidents of antisocial behaviour and violence over the past year.

Detective Sergeant Simon French, who leads the gangs unit, said: “We have targeted Otu for this ASBO because he has been linked with a number of violent or antisocial incidents in the Croydon borough.

“Our intention is to show that this type of antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated and that we will seek these kinds of measures to stop this behaviour and violence.

“We also hope that the conditions will help Otu to disassociate himself from other individuals involved and lead a life away from antisocial behaviour and crime.”
