The international best-seller by Rosamunde Pilcher, The Shell Seekers, is coming to the stage of the New Wimbledon Theatre this month starring Rosemary Leach.

An evocative and passionate modern day classic, this heart-rending story of an English family is set in London and Cornwall between the Second World War and the present day.

The tale centres round Penelope Keeling, her family and the secrets, passions and heartbreak that have held them together for three generations. It's a story of love, courage, determination and an ancestral legacy that threatens to shatter the family's very existence.

Rosemary Leach leads the cast as Penelope Keeling.

Rosemary has starred in A Room With A View, Down to Earth, My Family and Heartbeat. In the West End, Rosemary received the Society of West End Theatres' Best Actress award for her portrayal of Helene Hanff in 84 Charing Cross Road. The Shell Seekers propelled Rosamunde Pilcher to the top of the international best-seller list, selling over 6million copies worldwide.

It now comes to the British stage, adapted by husband-and-wife team Terence Brady and Charlotte Bingham who have been writing together for over 30 years. Their credits include Upstairs, Downstairs, Forever Green and Nanny.

The Shell Seekers opens at the New Wimbledon Theatre on September 13 until September 18.

Ticket prices start from £8.
