The startling progress of Croydon Harriers' U20 International Martyn Rooney continued last week with two more top class runs in open meetings.
Last Wednesday he went to Watford in search of a good electric time over his favourite 400m distance only to discover that the vital equipment had been removed for replacement. Undeterred, he raced round his lap in a fine 47.6secs.
In the same meeting U17 George Thatcher indicated his talent over 800m moving from last to third, for a personal best .
On Sunday Rooney repeated his success over the longer distance of 800m.
