Streatham-Croydon 22
Bromley 14
Streatham-Croydon kicked off the new season with a hard-fought victory at home over Bromley.
After an even start to the match, Streatham's forwards began to get on top of their opponents. The deadlock was broken by a John Millward penalty, awarded following an infringement at a ruck.
The lead was stretched further shortly after half-time with slick midfield passes.
Good handling in the closing stages put the result beyond doubt.
Streatham's 2nd XV got their season off to a fine start, with a 92 12 victory over Mitcham.

Old Rutlishians 13
Old Walcountians 6
Guildford and Godalming 2nd XV 12
For the sixth year in a row on Sunday, Old Walcountians hosted the season curtain-raiser in the Combined London Old Boys Cup, now in its 15th year.
Walcountians have been in serious summer training in their bid for promotion from Surrey Two, but their efforts ended in two narrow defeats against strong opposition.
Next Saturday, Walcountians take on Purley John Fisher 2nd XV at Parsons Pightle (kick-off 3pm).
PURLEY JOHN FISHER 13
BRIGHTON 12
A spirited Purley John Fisher side showed great resolve in winning their first London Three SE League match of the season.
PJF started well and were denied an early score when the visitors full back just beat the oncoming PJF attack to touch down in goal. Brighton were reduced to 14 men; but unfortunately PJF could not turn this advantage into points.
Wimbledon 19
Old Mid-Whitgiftian 17
Ill-discipline and basic errors cost Mid-Whitgiftians victory in this London Two game at Wimbledon.
Backchat by Midwives' rampaging forwards undoubtedly contributed to a number of strange decisions by the official. In boiling hot conditions totally unsuitable for rugby, the players seemed grateful for the constant stoppages.
The one worthwhile move of the first half, which combined backs and forwards, was put together by Wimbledon who eventually put their hooker over for a try, and the half ended with the home side 11-0 in the lead.
In the second half Mids began strongly, scoring a try inside two minutes. Most of the second half was played in their half, although Wimbledon managed to score again.
This Saturday Mids travel to newly-promoted Lewes for a second successive away game.
