Croydon Neighbourhood Care Association is this year's Champions charity. The association is an umbrella body which has 25 member groups providing support for people across the borough.

Whether it is taking someone to or from the shops or picking up a prescription, the association's loyal band of volunteers help thousands of people in the borough every year.

Now it is appealing for helpers to support its work.

Croydon Darby and Joan Club, in Addiscombe Road, is looking for volunteers with a couple of hours to spare to help with its lunch club which runs from 10am to 2pm every weekday. Call Nora on 020 8680 0084 for further details.
