A 17-year-old boy was stabbed twice during a fight between two groups of youths just days before Christmas.
Officers from Croydon Police are now appealing for witnesses to the assault which occurred on Monday, December 21 at 8.30pm.
The youth and his friends were involved in the fight with six other youths in Long Lane, Croydon and suffered two stab wounds.
The attackers then fled from the fight in the direction of The Glade.
London ambulance attended and the injured youth was rushed to a south London hospital. He has now been released and is believed to be recovering well.
The six attackers are described as black males, aged 16-19 years old, about 5’8” tall and wearing dark clothing.
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the fight. He was taken to a South London Police station and has been bailed until the new year.
Detective Constable, Sue Shearing of Croydon CID said: “This was a particular violent attack which has left the victim with serious injuries.
“Given the adverse weather conditions there was heavy traffic congestion in the area and it is possible that members of the public may have witnessed something significant. I would urge anyone who may have witnessed this attack or has any information to contact me.”
