Surrey Police continue to hunt for a man after reports of a gun being carried in a Weybridge street.
Police units, including a firearms unit and a targeted patrol team attended a home in Catherine Howard Court estate at about 6.30pm on Sunday, following the report.
A police helicopter was also deployed to monitor the area.
One witness told the Elmbridge Guardian the police had closed off all the main roads leading into Catherine Howard Court during the incident.
A spokesman for Surrey Police said they were still looking for a man who was seen in the area around the time of the incident.
He was white, between 25 and 30 years old, with dark hair and of slim build. He was wearing a dark three-quarter length coat, dark trousers and dark shoes.
He was also accompanied by a white woman, with dark hair, who was wearing a white puffer jacket.
Anyone with any information should call Surrey Police on 0845 1252222, quoting reference EL/09/9753, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
A resident, who did not want to be named, said there had been an increase in trouble on the estate.
She said: “It’s got bad lately, it’s mainly the kids. It comes in cycles and at the moment it is really going down hill.
“They keep sending bad people here they’ve moved off other estates.”
