A teenager who kicked a doorman in the face when he got thrown out of a Kingston pub has been told to attend an alcohol treatment programme.

Unemployed Jack Elliot, 19, lashed out after being thrown out of the Kingston Tup for being drunk and annoying other customers on May 15.

When doorman Serdal Unal tried to restrain him, Elliot kicked out and gave him a bloody nose.

An ambulance was called when he drunkenly passed out, but he came around in Kingston Hospital and was abusive to staff.

Elliot, of Mount Pleasant Road, Ealing, pleaded guilty to assault and using threatening words and behaviour.

Representing himself, he said: “I was out of order but I was provoked. I went to leave but I didn’t know how to get home and I went back to get my mate and it all kicked off from there.”

When he said he was looking for work as a barman, lead magistrate Lawrence Day said: “Good luck”.

He was given an 18 month community order, told to do an alcohol treatment programme and 80 hours of unpaid work and fined was £135.

Sentencing him, Mr Day said: “You have heard, like everyone I’m sure, about the alcohol problems in the country. You are obviously one of them and we are asked to deal with the problem very seriously. Alcohol related crime is a no no now in Kingston.”
