An anger management course has been ordered for a Kingston man who threatened to smash in a doctor’s face during a road rage incident.

Henry Sweeney, 27, launched a four-letter tirade and told GP Arlene Curran she “deserves a good smacking” when he objected to her driving in King Charles Road, Surbiton.

He was given a 12-month community order at Kingston Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, September 8, which includes supervision and an “aggression replacement training programme”.

Sweeney, of Kingsnympton Park, was found guilty of using threatening words and behaviour at a trial last month.

The argument broke out about 4pm on Thursday, May 14, when the drivers were side-by-side at a junction.

He was the passenger in a car turning right and became irate when Dr Curran went straight ahead from the left lane.

After being chased by Sweeney’s car, Dr Curran pulled over and called 999 and the operator could hear Sweeney shouting in the background.

He said “Get out the car before I drag you out” and “I should smack your face in”, peppered with obscenities and all in view of a child in his car, victim Dr Curran said.
