Police have reported another shooting in Battersea just 24 hours after two men were seriously wounded in gun incidents.

A woman found shooting marks in her front door in Westbridge Road at 4.30pm yesterday when she returned home.

Police confirmed the marks were made by shotgun pellets, which also cracked a pain of glass.

Officers believe the shooting took place earlier that afternoon, but found no-one nearby with injuries and no blood.

Only the day before, two men were injured in shooting incidents in Lavender Hill and Wye Street less than two hours apart.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said inquiries were taking place into whether these incidents are linked to the latest.

They also dismissed the theory that the woman was a victim of intentional vandalism.

DC Steve Gallone said: "There is nothing to connect the occupants at the address with a reason for this incident.

"Whilst we must retain an open mind regarding the circumstances, it may be that the shotgun was discharged some distance from the door, which may not have been a specific target.

"Did you see anyone or anything that could assist our investigation? If so, do please contact us."

The incident is being investigated by the Trident Shootings Team. No arrests have been made.

Five youths were arrested in connection with the incidents on Wednesday and were later bailed.

The two victims are in a serious but not life-threatening condition after one was found stabbed in Wye Street and one was found with shot wounds in Lavender Hill.
