Croydon residents will have the chance to grill the borough’s top policy makers this month in a question and answer session on crime.

Borough commander, Adrian Roberts and Croydon Council’s cabinet member for safety, councillor Gavin Barwell will be in the hot seat for the public meeting, taking place between 7-9pm on Tuesday, September 29. at Canterbury Road Community Centre.

The session, open to all, will give local people an opportunity to put their crime concerns to the borough’s top brass, and to learn more about future plans to make the borough safer.

It will also provide a forum to debate the issues that matter to them with those responsible for community safety and policing in Croydon.

Members of the surrounding Broad Green community are particularly encouraged to attend.

Coun Gavin Barwell, said: “We are working together to make Croydon safer and we have seen significant reductions in some types of crime. But there is still much work to be done.

“I know that crime and anti-social behaviour remain major concerns for many residents and businesses, and that is why it is a top priority for the council.

“I believe the community has an important role to play in combating crime locally, and your views matter a great deal. Please come along and get involved.”

Borough Commander Adrian Roberts said: “This is an opportunity for you to tell us what you think about policing in your area, what the real issues are for your neighbourhood and what you think we should be doing to tackle them.

“We are here to listen and this meeting is a chance for you as the local community to help shape policing in our borough.”
