A second outdoor gym has been opened in Mitcham as a craze to get fit in the sunshine continues to sweep the area.
Merton’s new mayor, Councillor Nick Draper, last week opened the facility in Figges Marsh to the delight of residents who have already been using a similar free gym in Pollards Hill, opened earlier in the year.
Both gyms have been extremely well used, giving an opportunity for residents to save hundreds of pounds on membership fees at private centres.
Coun Draper said: “This is great news for Merton residents, especially those local to Figges Marsh. The new outdoor gym will allow residents to now take advantage of the amazing new equipment to help them get fit and healthy in this great setting.”
