Blog from the Arctic by Martin Hartley: "We always expected that conditions out here would be tough and throughout the expedition so far that expectation has not fallen short.
This is a trip of extremes in every sense- extreme temperatures and physical challenges coupled more recently with high levels of suspense and anticipation as we waited for the resupply plane to land.
After being stationery at minus 40 degrees celsius, uncertain as to whether the resupply plane would make it, I cannot describe how glad I was to see that intrepid pilot touch down on the ice.
The joy of knowing that the plane carried with it a plentiful supply of the kind of calorie levels you wouldn’t dream of consuming in the UK and our all the other essential kit like food, fuel and batteries that will enable us to make our expedition a success.
Personally, I am exceptionally glad to be on the move again towards our goal with fresh kit to try and keep my camera operating.
I've also got some new padding to put alongside my frost-bitten toe.
But aside from the arduous conditions we're experiencing I have to say that its extremely beautiful here and I want to create a permanent record of this unique place.
I feel passionate that everyone should be able to see it through the images I capture."
