Martin is a leading polar photographer with 19 expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctic under his belt.
The 40-year-old from north London has worked in some of the most challenging environments on earth and will be responsible for documenting the 100-day expedition.
He will also act as filmmaker throughout the trip and record the team's day-to-day progress across the ice.
Martin is a regular contributor to National Geographic and has won the Travel Photographer of the Year award on many occasions.
His latest exhibition, Face to Face: Polar Portraits, is currently showing in New York.
