A Wandsworth woman has been stabbed to death in Lavender Hill.
Detectives are looking for a man seen fleeing the scene in Lavender Hill near the junction with Basnett Road just before 9.30pm last night.
The victim has been identified as a 23-year-old white woman from Wandsworth. She was taken to a south London hospital but was confirmed dead an hour later.
The Homicide and Serious Crime Command has launched a murder investigation.
They have recovered a knife from the scene.
A postmortem examination is yet to be carried out.
A Met police spokesman said: "At this early stage we must retain an open mind regarding the circumstances and motive but it appears there was an incident in the street with a man who subsequently made off on foot."
Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
