A murder investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed to death in Streatham this morning.

Police say the man, believed to be in his 40s, was found dead at an address in Edgington Road, Streatham at 3.40am.

Ambulance crews pronounced the man dead at the scene.

A Met Police spokesman said officers believe they know the man’s identity but are waiting for his family to be informed of his death and formal identification to take place before releasing his name.

Detectives from the Met’s Homicide and Serious Crime Command are investigating the man’s death.
