A brand-new “secret lavender garden” is opening in Epsom this month, where you can roam around rows of lavender surrounded by horses and fruit trees.
Mayfield Lavender is set to open its brand-new “immersive” Secret Lavender Garden on June 21.
The garden, which will be open to a small number of guests at a time with up to 60 guests per session, will feature rows of fragrant English Lavender, an apple orchard and fruit trees, surrounded by grazing horses.
The new garden, created by the same team behind the popular Mayfield Lavender in Croydon, will also feature a tall, tree-lined avenue leading guests to a second lavender field.
The space will also be a prime spot for photographers and Instagrammers alike, with the field featuring Mayfield’s iconic red telephone box amidst rows of purple lavender.
“The opening of the Secret Lavender Garden at our Epsom site marks an exciting chapter for Mayfield. We’re delighted to be able to offer a completely different kind of experience for our visitors with its launch,” said Brendan Maye, founder of Mayfield Lavender. “It’s a peaceful, hidden gem that complements the vibrant atmosphere of the Banstead-based lavender farm. We can’t wait for people to experience both.”
Visitors can either bring a picnic to enjoy at one of the tables or buy food from the on-site Glasshouse Café featuring a menu of lavender-themed food and drinks.
From July 5, the Secret Lavender Garden will also host ‘sunset special’ slots where visitors can take photos of the lavender during Golden Hour.
Timed sessions run up until August 24, with tickets bookable for £10 for an adult, £8 for children over the age of 12 and £5 for children under 12.
Parking is also available for free but booking in advance is recommended.
