Churchill’s War Rooms are located at the Clive Steps along King Charles Street in Westminster. It is an immersive museum that shows all aspects of Winston Churchill’s life. The war rooms that Winston Churchill resided in during the Second World War were converted into a museum in 1984 with further restoration in 2003.

You can do many things here such as looking at the rooms that Churchill spent time in as well as objects that he used, invented or were important to the war effort along with facts about his life which you can play through audio devices in a variety of languages. There are also facts about the war and what other people thought about him. You can find areas which exhibit random information about him such as the fact that he never actually met Adolf Hitler.

The museum has many videos to sit down and watch and quizzes that you can complete on some of Churchill’s speeches. Halfway through the experience there is a café where you can purchase food and drink. At the end of the museum there is a giftshop with many souvenirs and interesting books. There are many products for sale with Winston Churchill quotes printed on them such as his famous ‘We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills we shall never surrender”.

It would be an excellent idea to visit this museum as it is a very informative and enjoyable experience which might be helpful for studying history or general knowledge. What was especially interesting was Churchill’s personal life and some of his political views before he even properly got into politics. His writing and artistic works were also fascinating to find out about. Winston Churchill was talented in many areas.

Visiting the Churchill War Rooms was a fun and thought-provoking way to spend a day.
