Four men have been arrested and drugs were seized after reports of a robbery in Wandsworth.

Police on patrol were called to a robbery in Winstanley Road, SW11, at around 10.30am.

Officers tracked down a vehicle matching the description given during the robbery reports.

Police then intercepted and stopped the vehicle whilst other officers attended the home of the suspected robbery.

The car contained four men who were detained for a search.

Officers also carried out a search of the area surrounding the robbery scene and claim that a large quantity of drugs were found.

Pictures shared by Wandsworth Police on social media show many wraps and packets of substances seized from the scene.

All four males were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs.

A spokesperson for Wandsworth Police said: “#Arrested | Four males have been arrested for possession with intent to supply Class A and B.

“SW police officers were on patrol on the 23rd February at 10.30am when they attended reports of a robbery in Winstanley Road SW11.

“The officers located a vehicle matching the one described in the reports to police.

“Officers intercepted the vehicle whilst others attended the original location of the suspected robbery.

“The vehicle, containing 4 male passengers, was stopped and the passengers were detained for the purpose of a search.

“Whilst speaking with the males, the other officers carried out a search of the area of the original report and a large quantity of drugs were found.

“All four males were arrested for possession with intent to supply. Intel checks also showed that one of the males was wanted and he was remanded straight to court. “
