A man and a woman have appeared in court charged with murdering a 49-year-old man after his home in Streatham was set on fire.
Mayara Loiola Ataide, 34, and Gevaldo Tavares Dos Santos, 46, both of no fixed address, are accused of the murder of Dos Santos Antonio on February 25.
The pair are also charged with two counts of arson with intent to endanger life.
The blaze broke out at a house that is divided into bedsits in Glenister Park Road, Streatham, shortly after 7pm.
Loiola Ataide and Dos Santos appeared by videolink at the Old Bailey on Friday.
The court heard the flat was owned by a former landlord of Loiola Ataide and Dos Santos, and that Dos Santos Antonio was a tenant.
They will next appear at the Old Bailey for plea on May 17.
