The train stations with the most delays in and around Croydon have been revealed, according to new data.

On Time Trains gathered data on how well National Rail and London Overground stations have been running for the past 12 weeks.

They looked at a total of 2,619 stations in the UK to see how efficient and busy they were.

Stations are ranked by performance score, which is calculated based on service punctuality and how often trains are cancelled.

West Croydon Station was ranked 247th out of 2,619 stations, while East Croydon Station came in more than halfway at 1,782nd in terms of train cancellations.

Only 43 per cent of trains at East Croydon arrive on time with four per cent of trains being cancelled.

Passengers: 19th busiest, with 61,500 passengers per day

  • Two per cent of trains are 5-9 minutes late
  • One per cent of trains are more than 10 minutes late
  • Two per cent of trains are cancelled

South Croydon

Performance: 1,475nd out of 2,619 stations in terms of train cancellations

Passengers: 601st busiest, with 2,009 passengers per day

Delays:

  • 38 per cent of trains are on time
  • 34 per cent of trains are 1-2 minutes late
  • 12 per cent of trains are 3-4 minutes late
  • Nine per cent of trains are 5-9 minutes late
  • Three per cent of trains are more than 10 minutes late
  • Four per cent of trains are cancelled

Coulsdon South

Performance: 1,662nd out of 2,619 stations in terms of train cancellations

Passengers: 310th busiest, with 4,263 passengers per day

Delays:

  • 48 per cent of trains are on time
  • 23 per cent of trains are 1-2 minutes late
  • 10 per cent of trains are 3-4 minutes late
  • Eight per cent of trains are 5-9 minutes late
