A 59-year-old man has been arrested after threatening to self-harm inside a home in Sutton.

Police were called to Throwley Way at around 5.20pm yesterday (February 6) where they attempted to engage with the man.

He was detained at around 11pm before being arrested and taken to a south London police station.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at about 17:20hrs on Monday, 5 February to Throwley Way in Sutton where they attempted to engage with a man inside an address who threatened to self-harm.

“The 59-year-old man was detained shortly before 11.30pm before being arrested and taken to a south London police station.”
