A man has been taken to hospital after a stabbing in a park near Colliers Wood High Street.

Police were called to the scene at 2.24pm today (December 10) along with paramedics.

A 37-year-old man was found near Burger King on Christchurch Road with stab injuries.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said that it is believed that the incident occurred in Wandle Park before the victim made his way towards Burger King.

He was treated at scene before being taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service.

His condition has now been confirmed as non-life threatening.

A crime scene is currently still in place at the park but is expected to be removed overnight.

A man was also arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing GBH and has since been taken into custody.

Police are now appealing witnesses to the attack and are asking anyone with information that may assist the investigation to call 101 and quote CAD reference 3652/10Dec.

“He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital. His condition has been assessed as non life-threatening.

A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing GBH.

“He has been taken into custody.
