A man has been charged in connection with the murder of a 20-year-old in Thornton Heath.

Joshua Munoz, of Wiltshire Road, CR7, was charged in connection with his murder yesterday (July 4).

The 19-year-old will appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, July 6.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, June 13 when officers on patrol in Thornton Heath were notified of a man injured at the junction of Melfort Road and Sandfield Road at 4.26pm.

Usmaan Mahmood was found with stab wounds and taken to the hospital, where he died early on Wednesday, June 14.

Police are urging witnesses to come forward and provide any information that could assist the investigation.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: "A man has been charged in connection with the murder of 20-year-old Usmaan Mahmood in Thornton Heath.

"Joshua Munoz, 19 (22.06.04) of Wiltshire Road, CR7 was arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday and charged today, Tuesday, 4 July.

"He will appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

"At 4.26pm on Tuesday, 13 June, officers on patrol in Thornton Heath were made aware of a man who was injured at the junction of Melfort Road and Sandfield Road.

"Mr Mahmood was found with stab injuries. He was taken to hospital but sadly died there in the early hours of Wednesday, 14 June.
