Three council workers have received praise from the Prime Minister for their efforts in helping those affected by the July floods.
Ken Emerson, Valerie Hawkins and Clare Fred Downs, all from Richmond Council, helped set up emergency centres and arrange temporary accommodation for families hit by this summer's flash floods.
At a ceremony to honour efforts nationally, held at Lancaster House, Gordon Brown said: "Britain works best when Britain works together."
Ken is head of housing operations, Valerie is manager of the Sheen Lane Day Centre, and Clare is manager of the Access Project day service for adults with physical disabilities and sensory impairments.
Richmond council leader, Councillor Serge Lourie, said: "Our staff were part of a major operation helping people during the flooding and I am delighted the work has been officially recognised."
