Three men have been charged in connection with the murder of a fisherman who was found dead in the River Thames near Walton.
Scott Wilkinson was discovered in July 2016 after concerns were raised about a missing person towards the end of that month.
The 48-year-old’s death was treated as “unexplained” by Surrey Police before a murder investigation was launched.
A post-mortem examination later concluded the cause of death to be trauma to the head.
In a short statement at the time, Mr Wilkinson's family, said: "Scott, a son, brother, father and grandfather was dearly loved and will be truly missed by all of his family and friends."
Lenny Crawt, 18, of Townshill Drive in Kirkham, Preston, Shane Crawt, 19, of Hyde Terrace in Ashford, Surrey, and Charlie Smith, 23, of no fixed address, have all been charged with murder and theft of a motorcycle.
They will next appear at Staines Magistrates Court today (July 19).
Earlier, a 46-year-old man from Sunbury was arrested by police before being released with no further action being taken against him at this time.
Officers are still urging for anyone with information to come forward “as a matter of urgency”, quoting Operation Briar.
Anyone with information should call police on 101.
