Have you ever wondered how the world of hair trade works? What someone has to say about their hair?

If so then look no further than the Hair! Human Stories exhibition at The Library Space, Battersea.

The exhibition is curated by Goldsmiths Anthropologist, Emma Tarlo, who wrote the award-winning book Entanglement: The Secret Lives of Hair.

Visitors to the exhibition can encounter strange artworks made from hair, see images of hair harvests and wig manufacture past and present, and learn about hair’s recycling potential.

The exhibition will take people on ‘an intriguing journey into the world of hair. From intimate personal stories to unexpectedly global tales about hair’s circulation around the world.’ The exhibition explores our curious relationship to hair and answers questions such as what do we feel about our hair and how do we view it differently when cut from the head?

The exhibition will include ‘strange’ artworks made from hair, where visitors can see images of hair harvests and wig manufacture past and present. They can also learn about hair’s recycling possibilities.

It launches on June 7 at 6.30pm and will run until the 26th. There will be five events which are all free to enter.

The event will be held at the following address: The Library Space 108 Battersea Park Road, SW11 4LY.
