Residents at a care home in Epsom were joined by primary school students for a fun-filled afternoon including baked goods.

Appleby House in Longmead Road was visited by pupils from Southfield Park Primary School, who brought along baked items for the residents, including a variety of delicious scones. The pupils also wrote letters to residents explaining how they baked the scones and what they had been learning at school.

Shona Bradbury, home manager at Appleby House, said: “At Appleby House, we strive to build relationships with different generations within our community. Not only does it allow the older generation to impart wisdom and share experiences with the younger students, but it also helps to improve the mental and physical wellbeing of residents.

“The pupils and residents had a wonderful time getting to know each other, eating scones and reading the letters. We would like to say thank you to Southfield Primary School, and we look forward to welcoming the children back to the home in the future.”
