A Sutton High School teenager is set to perform at this next month's Winter Olympic Games.

Year 13 student Seung Hye Park, 18, will play in front of thousands of spectators and millions watching around the world during the major competition which begins on February 9 in Pyeongchang County.

She will perform during the women’s single figure skating competition, as well as both the men’s and women’s team pursuit skating finals.

The teenager has also been offered an undergraduate piano scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music in London this coming September.

Sutton High School headmistress Katharine Crouch said: “We are extremely proud of Seung Hye, this is a wonderful opportunity for her to showcase her outstanding talent.

“In addition her success at winning a piano scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music underlines her potential as a world-class pianist.”

There will be 94 nations competing at the Winter Olympics next month in 102 events which range across several sports.

The event will last 16 days until its closing ceremony on Sunday, February 25.
