The decision to put a clamp on a van with four flats tyres and had been left abandoned "for 10 months" has left people confused.

Twitter user Mark Thomas noticed the new addition to the van yesterday (January 23) and was baffled by the decision.

"Here is a van that was dumped on priory road 10 months ago," he wrote.

"It has had countless parking tickets and notices of removal.

"It has four flat tyres and is clearly going nowhere.

"So what happened yesterday? It had a clamp put on it, wtf."

In his post he alerted Croydon Council to the issue.

"Hi Mark, thanks for letting us know about this," a council spokesman replied.

"I'm going to pass this information on to the relevant team. Thank you."

By 3.30pm that day, the van had disappeared.

Fair to say Mr Thomas was happy with the decision.

"Prompt action taken following this mornings tweet to remove the van in Priory Road," Mr Thomas wrote.

"Now all that’s required is the debris from the van to be cleared up and a parking bay painted and then we are all fine and dandy."

All's well that ends well it looks like.
