A woman is fighting for her life after a car crashed into the bus stop she was waiting at in Twickenham yesterday evening (January 4).
Police were called to the nearby Sandycoombe Road at 7.55pm to reports of an Audi crashing into a pedestrian.
A spokesman for the Met Police said: “The injured woman was taken by London Ambulance Service to a central London hospital where her condition is currently critical.
“Next of kin are aware and are at the hospital.
“The driver of the Audi stopped at the scene and has also been taken to hospital for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries.”
The wall behind the bus stop sustained significant damage from the force of the crash.
The damage from last night’s incident on St Margaret’s Road is sadly all to visible this morning. No word yet on what happened, but the damage is a worrying indicator. pic.twitter.com/O0vlicYEjR
