The National Trust is decking out London’s historic houses for the festive season and Ham House and Garden is getting a makeover.

While surrounded by handmade decorations created by the conservation charity’s team of Christmas volunteers, visitors will be able to make crafts, taste delicious local food, discover unique gifts or simply stroll through frosty winter landscapes.

The little ones will be entertained with a trip to visit Father Christmas in his grotto.

A spokesman for the charity said: “After all that, warm yourself with the knowledge that each magical day out supports the National Trust’s conservation work year-round, looking after special places for people to enjoy for the festive season and many more to come.”
