A series of volunteer-led walks has been launched in Richmond and the council is on the look-out for some leaders.
Run by the council’s parks team, ‘Health Walks’ vary in distance and pace, lasting from 30 to 90 minutes, and take place around the borough six days a week.
Residents who enjoy the outdoors and would like to take part in free walk leader training, are invited to sign up for a training course in the New Year.
Councillor Pamela Fleming, cabinet member for Environment, Business and Community said: “We are lucky to live in a borough with beautiful parks and a great community spirit.
“This service is a way for residents to enjoy both of these whilst staying fit and active at the same time.
“These walks have always been popular and it’s great to have the council taking over responsibility for them again.”
