Epsom Playhouse Pre-school is celebrating achieving a ‘good’ rating from Ofsted just weeks into the start of term with new charity manager Lucy Frost.

Lucy started her new role at Epsom Playhouse Pre-school at the start of September, filling the gap after the previous manager departed in April.

She got stuck in straight from the very start to ensure high quality education and care for all 28 children on the roll.

Lucy said: "The children are secure and happy and that really shows. It's a great place to work.

"We put lots of support and effort into the pre-school, improving sensory development for the children."

The pre-school is managed by an elected volunteer committee (made up of volunteer parents, carers and staff), who are collectively responsible for the pre-school.

Relying heavily on government funded places for income, the pre-school offers local families in the community access to the early years education and care they are entitled to.

Epsom Playhouse Pre-school hope that by now boasting a ‘good’ rating more parents will be encouraged to access free early education and childcare.

Lucy added: "We are a community run charity and all we want is the best for the children."

A term time sessional pre-school, children between the ages of two and a half and five-years-old are welcome at any combination of sessions.

Epsom Playhouse Pre-school offers two-year-old FEET and three to four-year-old FEE funding as well as the new 30 hours scheme for working parents.
