A new housing support service has been launched to help elderly people live at home independently.

Sutton Connect will work with residents who are over 55 and in need of housing support.

This will be run by Sutton Housing Partnership (SHP) who manages the borough's council housing.

Dawn Eustace, Group Manager of SHP, said: “Sutton Connect will make a real difference to the lives of older residents most in need.

"Our aim is to support people to develop their independent living skills and work towards fulfilling personal goals, aspirations and wellbeing.”

The support Sutton Connect will provide includes money and health management, help in accessing local services and any issues that place their homes at risk.

Currently the service is only for tenants living in social housing but Sutton Connect plans to make it available across the borough by next year.
