A sponsored walk will be held in Reigate's Priory Park next month to raise money for children with brain injuries.

'The Halloween Howl' will take place on Sunday, October 29 where people will walk 3km or 5km accompanied by furry friends in support of Tadworth-based The Children's Trust.

The spooky stroll will host a costume competition which is open for dogs and humans.

Dance group Star Steppers will also be there encouraging walkers to get involved with their Thriller routine.

Hannah Beresford-Ward, supporter of The Children's Trust, said: “Me and my friends were so excited when we heard about the Halloween Howl. It’s a great idea giving us the chance to walk our dogs, get our children and grandchildren dressed up and outdoors, all while raising money for a very special charity.

"We can't wait!"

Tracy Poulton, fundraising manager of the charity, added: “The Halloween Howl is a lovely opportunity for local people to get together, take on a challenge, and have a bit of fun.

“40,000 children are left with a brain injury each year and without fundraising challenges like this we wouldn’t be able to reach out and support as many of these children as we do.”

The event starts at 9am with the entry fee being £15 and the minimum sponsorship being £50.
