Firearm units were deployed in Epsom on Bank Holiday Monday after reports of a gunshot from inside a car.
It is understood that one man in his twenties has been arrested on suspicion of discharging a firearm in public and threats to kill on Epsom Road at around 3.15pm on August 28.
Another man in his 20s was also arrested on suspicion of discharging a firearm in public and both remain in police custody.
No weapon was located when police arrived at the scene and no one suffered any injuries.
Police are appealing for witnesses especially anyone that may have picked up items from the road afterwards and two females that where sat together on the junction of the Reigate Road and Epsom Road.
