A “violent” mental health patient known to carry weapons has disappeared from a hospital in Woolwich.

Mandeep Mehmi, 37, was last seen at around 6.15pm on Sunday (June 4) at Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he had been receiving treatment.

Mehmi had been detained under the Mental Health Act and Greenwich Police is appealing to the public to help trace him.

Police have warned the public not to approach Mehmi as they say he is “violent” and known to carry weapons.

He is described as Asian with a London accent, 5ft 10ins, of slim-build, with short untidy black hair and has a black beard.

He was last seen wearing an orange jacket, grey trouser, grey top and black trainers and has a one inch scar circular scar on the inside of his left wrist.

Anyone who knows of Mehmi's whereabouts should not approach him but dial 999 immediately.
