A former Sutton councillor has been charged with theft of thousands of pounds.
Alan Salter, 66, of Butter Hill, Wallington, is alleged to have stolen £1,287.06 and £332.30 from an address in Sutton on two dates between June 1 and August 8 this year.
The former Liberal Democrat councillor for Carshalton Central will appear at Croydon Crown Court on November 14 charged with two counts of theft.
He resigned from the council on June 13 after allegations against him emerged.
