A man has been arrested after armed police swooped on Benhilton after reports of a gunman entering a house.
Armed officers were called to Benfleet Close after a witness reported seeing a man entering a house while brandishing a firearm at 9.42am.
The armed man is thought to live in the road and have mental health problems.
A witness who drove past just after 11am said: “There were about 30 officers down there - maybe more than that - fully geared up.
"It looked like they were in riot gear and that something big was going down.”
Police arrested a man later in the morning.
