Game of Thrones stars Charles Dance and Emilia Clarke are the voices behind the main characters in a Sutton writer's audio book of highly-praised novel.

Thriller 'What She Left' follows university lecturer Dr Jeremy Cook (Charles Dance - who played Tywin Lannister) as he pieces together the life of his dead former student Alice Salmon (Emilia Clarke - Daenerys) from her digital footprint after she died during a night out in Southampton.

Author Tim Relf, who is writing under the pseudonym T.R.Richmond, said having the two actors voice his characters was an incredible experience.

Mr Relf, originally from Kent, but who now lives in Carshalton, said: "When I put the headphones on and listened to them read I knew it was right.

"It was just so surreal, being a huge Game of Thrones fan, to have Tywin Lannister and the Mother of Dragons reading what I had written was completely surreal."

Reviews for What She Left have been overwhelmingly positive and have praised the writing and plot of the book.

But the author added there was a darker element to the story.

Mr Relf said: "The idea for the book came to me when someone I follow on Twitter said what song they would have played at their funeral.

"I thought it was bizarre that I knew something so intimate about a person I had never met and began to think about it in more detail.

"100 years ago it was only a handful of letters that you could read that would give you an insight into what a person was like."

What She Left is available to purchase in book, audio and e-reader format now.
