Councillor Jayne McCoy’s letter (Your Say, May 14) implies that the newly-elected Conservative MP Paul Scully will bring back slavery and diminish human rights.
Letter to the Editor: Protect us
But was it not the very same Jayne McCoy that forced out 21 local families from their homes in Green Wrythe Lane 18 months ago by using compulsory purchase orders to seize their three-bedroom semi-detached homes and pay just £178,000 for them?
These families have now been forced out of London to Shropshire, Norfolk, Bognor, etc, because Coun McCoy did not want to listen and really did not want to pay a fair price.
These families were abused and bullied by Sutton Council, so to see her letter bleating on about fair and humane treatment is beyond ironic.
When she had the families in Green Wrythe Lane under her boot she crushed them. I tried to help these families, despite it not being my ward, because the ward Liberal Democrat councillors did not want to know.
I still keep in touch with some families, so do not be surprised if they choose to write in about their treatment.
