An RNLI volunteer was treated to a guard of honour from his crew mates when he tied the knot last weekend.
Ian Greatbatch, who volunteers at Teddington and Chiswick RNLI station, and his new wife, Becky, married at St Lawrence Church, Effingham, on Saturday, August 23.
Members from both lifeboat stations held oars above the church doorway as they passed underneath to great their friends and family as man and wife.
Mr Greatbatch, a lecturer at Kingston University and founder of Surrey Search and Rescue, has been involved with the RNLI for many years and the couple used their involvement with the charity as the theme for their wedding.
James Kavanagh, wedding guest and Teddington RNLI crew member, said: "They are a very nice couple. It was a very traditional service. The vicar was so funny and very relaxed. The whole service really reflected their personalities."
The table plan at the reception, at a Victorian village hall in Mickleham, also had a lifeboat theme, with tables all named after different rescue boats.
After their reception, the couple, who live in Walton, headed off on their honeymoon to Burgh Island, Dorset.
