I would like to offer my sincere thanks to everyone in Croydon who helped make Marie Curie Cancer Care’s Great Daffodil Appeal such a big success this March.

You raised an outstanding £9,829.51. This will provide over 491 hours of nursing care for someone with a terminal illness in your area.

The appeal simply wouldn’t be possible without the contribution of our fantastic volunteer collectors who tirelessly encouraged people to make a donation and wear a daffodil, and the generosity of everyone who gave what they could to support people with terminal illnesses.

The funds raised during the Great Daffodil Appeal make it possible for Marie Curie Nurses to provide more free hands-on care to people with terminal illnesses in their own homes, as well as vital emotional support for their families.

The care received makes a significant difference for patients to be able to be cared for where they normally live, surrounded by the people and things they love and cherish. This is what makes the Great Daffodil Appeal so important. To date, this has been Marie Curie Cancer Care’s most successful appeal. Every £20 raised provides an hour of nursing care for a terminally ill person in their own home.

Again, I want to say a huge thank you to you all and if you would like to get involved with fundraising please get in touch with me at 01883 832642 or Emily.akeroyd@mariecurie.org.uk
