Barclays Cycle Hire docking stations will go live across north Wandsworth in a fortnight.
The Boris Bikes will launch on December 13 across parts of Battersea, Wandsworth Town and Putney, with the remaining set to go live in Spring 2014.
It comes after Transport for London (TfL) joined forces with Wandsworth Council to launch 60 docking stations across the borough.
A focus is being placed on transport hubs and town centres, including docking stations operating at Clapham Junction Station and outside Battersea Power Station.
More than 2,000 additional bikes in over 150 new docking stations are being added across London, hald of which will be south of the river.
The extension is expected to deliver an additional 250,000 to 300,000 Barclays Cycle Hire journeys a month.
It will cover more than 100sq km of London, marking it as one of the largest cycle hire networks in the world.
Councillor Russell King, cabinet member for transport, said: ""The scheme will be a valuable addition to our transport network which can help reduce traffic jams and ease overcrowding on our tubes, trains and buses.
"We see this extension as the first step towards complete borough-wide coverage. The job’s not done until every home is within easy reach of a Boris bike."
The council is also offering free cycling safety training to help people gain skills and confidence to try cycle hair.
