A violent armed burglar - part of a gang who brutally attacked and robbed a family in their own home - has been jailed for more than 14 years.

The horrific onslaught saw a man repeatedly punched and pistol-whipped with a handgun and a woman stamped on the head after being dragged from bed.

Jordan Findlay, 20, of Ullswater Road, West Norwood, was sentenced yesterday at Inner London Crown Court for aggravated burglary, as well as firearms and drugs offences.

He admitted the offences at earlier hearings in March and November this year at the same court.

His three accomplices are still at large and police are appealing for help finding them.

The incident happened on Tuesday, 24 April 2012, at 1.40am, where the family of four in York Hill, West Norwood, were asleep in bed.

Four men - including Findlay - who were wearing balaclavas, gloves and dark clothing forced entry to the ground floor flat via the front door.

Two of the men entered one of the bedrooms, in which a man and woman were threatened with a knife and the woman suffered an epileptic fit.

The other two suspects entered her son's bedroom where he was with his girlfriend. They were threatened by the two masked men with a knife and a handgun.

The man was repeatedly punched and pistol-whipped and the woman was dragged from the bed and her head was stamped on.

The suspects stole a TV, a Sony playstation and £500 in cash from the property. As they left one of the suspects fired three shots in to the hallway.

All four victims were treated at the scene by paramedics but did not require hospital treatment.

Police said they were extremely tramautised by their ordeal and were re-housed for their own safety.

The suspect with the firearm was later identified as Jordan Findlay.

A search of Findlay's home address recovered about £2,000 in cash, crack cocaine and heroin.

Acting Detective Inspector David Bowen, Trident Gang Crime Command said: "This was a violent and traumatic attack on the victims in their own home.

"Findlay is a dangerous individual who will no doubt have gone on to commit further acts of violence.

"This sentence should send a clear message that Trident officers are committed to pursuing and placing those involved in gang-related crime before the courts."

Officers are seeking the other three men involved in the aggravated burglary. Anyone with information can call the police non-emergency line on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
