A haul of Asian gold jewellery has been stolen in Thames Ditton, the second burglary of the type in the borough in less than two months.

More than £10,000 of jewellery, several gold watches and photographic equipment was stolen from a home in St Leonards Road between 9.20am and 8pm on Wednesday, November 20.

The owner returned home to find the property had been broken into and burgled, with the offenders gaining entry by breaking in through the back door and utility room.

Surrey Police want to speak to a man reported to have been seen in the area at the time who may be able to help with their enquiries.

He is about 5ft 7in, aged 18 to 20-years-old, of thin to medium build, with white, sallow looking skin and close cropped hair.

He was also seen to be wearing a grey hooded top. Detective sergeant Stuart Duguid, investigating, said: “We are keen to speak to this man who may be able to help with our enquiries.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen, heard or know anything relating to the burglary.

“Thinking back to Wednesday, November 20, perhaps you were in the vicinity at the time and thought something seemed strange. Perhaps you saw an unknown vehicle or unfamiliar people that were not known to the area.

“Or perhaps you have been approached to buy items of Asian gold jewellery, watches or photographic equipment. If you can help with our enquiries we urge you to get in touch as the information may be vital to the investigation.”

Anyone with information should call Surrey Police on 101, quoting reference 45130000290 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
