They all had something to prove - and they certainly rose to the occasion.

Creative Youth's annual British Bread Golf Open saw a group of club-wielding fundraisers once again to attempt to score a hole in bun by knocking dough balls off of Eagle Brewery Wharf onto a floating green on the River Thames.

Although nobody managed to sink one into the hole itself – a fete still yet to be achieved in the history of the competition – it seems competitors are getting closer every year.

Creative Youth director Aniela Zaba said: "We actually had someone hit the board on the boat this year.

“I think that's the nearest anybody has ever come.

"But still nobody has ever got it into the hole.”

The event raised an estimated £800 for the Creative Youth, the charity which organises Kingston’s annual International Youth Arts Festival.
