The trial of the man accused of killing a bookmaker as he worked in Morden is due to start today.
Homeless 21-year-old Shafique Ahmad Aarij is charged with killing 55-year-old Andrew Iacovou at the Aberconway Road, Morden, branch of Ladbrokes on Saturday, May 25.
A post mortem revealed the father-of-three from Church Hill Road, Cheam, died from blunt trauma to the head.
Aarij was arrested on May 30 and charged the following day. His trial is due to start at Southwark Crown Court this morning.
